Relationship Marketing Is Key To Building an MLM Business

Relationship marketing is a term that is used rather loosely but relationship marketing is a key to build and maintain your MLM business. Relationship marketing is really all about building personal relationships, not selling.
People get started in a MLM business and they think that all they have to do is place an ad or build a capture page and their MLM business will grow by magic. Unless you are known as a MLM guru and making millions of dollars it really doesn't work that way. Relationship marketing is all about building and cultivating relationships so you become someone that the other person truly knows, versus knows about.
Here is an example. Many people use social media to build their MLM business. Not by posting links but by meeting people and building a personal relationship so they can at some time talk about business or maybe ask for a referral for their MLM business.
I reached out to a friend of mine, Bruce Fowler, on Facebook. Bruce is one of the most positive people you will ever find. Now I would love to have Bruce in my business but that's not the point. I really want to have Bruce as my friend. The morning I shot this video, Bruce had posted a video on Facebook about the sunrise over the ocean. We had just had a major snowstorm so I shot a video showing our snow and giving Bruce a shout out.
Of course he responded to it as well as many other people who saw my post on Facebook. Do you think this is helping grow my MLM business? Of course it is! Bruce might not ever be in my business but I am cultivating personal relationships with not only Bruce but with all the other people who saw my video on Facebook. This is a form of relationship marketing.
Most people know about 250 people in their personal and business network. As I build personal relationships outside of the 250 people I already know I am adding to my network. Not only that specific person but as we become friends both of us will introduce each other to our own networks so we are actually building each of our networks through relationship marketing.
Not that is not saying my goal in building a relationship with someone is to get them in my business or to get a friend of theirs in my business. My goal is to build a relationship so we can see if we can help each other and create a win-win for both of us.
If you are thinking of building a MLM business make sure you understand what relationship marketing is and have fun with. Go out of your way to meet people and see if you can help them.
