Take Your Pathetic Slide Show Somewhere Else - What An Insult to One's Intelligence

Not long ago I was talking to an acquaintance and he was explaining one of the projects he was working on, it was a marketing campaign and he whipped out that little binder with protected pages of various outlines to explain his concept. I know this is much like a real world version of the PowerPoint presentations in the virtual world. However, I would say it is also an insult to one's intelligence, especially someone who has been looking at those sorts of quick fix explanation presentations all their lives. Okay so let's talk about this shall we?

It seems that every home based business multilevel marketing recruitment salesperson uses the same strategies and tactics. Somehow they believe that if you see it on paper as they flip the pages in a professional manner that it is more believable, or that you will accept the information quicker than if they just explain it to you. This may be so, but does not negate the fact that so many of us have been suckered into listening to such sales presentations so many times that we can see right through the process. In other words we, are unimpressed.

As I was watching through this sales presentation, acting rather uninterested because to be quite frank with you; I wasn't interested in the least - I noted that the individual presenter turned the pages faster and rifled through the information as if that would make me more interested. I was actually thankful that he went faster through the information because I wasn't interested, and it was nice to see that he got the presentation over with. The entire time I was thinking to myself; "why don't you take your pathetic little slideshow and go away."

Weeks later he is still trying to get me involved in his little project, but I am even less impressed with it now than I was when he first showed it to me. Apparently he thinks himself a salesperson, thinking he can sell anything, and he wishes to recruit me to join his merry men team of sellers and marketers. At some point those who have been conned into listening to some sort of presentation like this need to tell these sellers that they aren't interested. Just because something is written down doesn't mean it is true, just as when you read the newspaper you know that most of the garbage is opinion based or even completely wrong. Indeed I hope you will please consider all this and think on it.
