Internet traffic is the life-blood for any website; without it, the rookie entrepreneur will not see any sales, hence, they will have to close up shop or put more time and effort into their brick and mortar or virtual business. I will provide some tips on how you can use advertising to your advantage and boost your sales and make a good living off of your business.
1. You may have noticed that in some of the major publications, the classifieds sections would be filled with all sorts of advertisements that say, "Buy One and Get the Other Half Off." This type of advertising works really well for brick and mortar businesses, but in the virtual world of affiliate marketing, offer a free sample of your product or software through downloads so that the prospective customer can see what you are offering or promoting.
2. Do some research on the internet, because there are publications that are out there where authors are willing to advertise your product(s) in their works; tell them who you are and what you are promoting.
3. Use the power of brochures and flyers and start posting them on bulletin boards throughout your community. For the affiliate marketing entrepreneur, create e-books that tell a little bit about your product.
4. The piggy-back method is the most effective way to get on page one of Google instantly. Contact the owner of the website and get permission from them for you to advertise on their website. Take full advantage of posting a comment and if applicable, post your link that leads to your website.
5. For the affiliate marketer, whether the product is your own or you decide to promote other people's products; show a simple demonstration of what the product can do by purchasing the software and then show it to a worldwide audience through video advertising. For the brick and mortar business, offer free gifts and samples that has a simple inscription on it, such as your business name and website link.
6. E-mail marketing is a powerful tool for your business (physical or virtual), because once a prospective customer subscribes to your newsletter, they will receive on a regular basis, discounts and other important information about upcoming sales and new product releases. Decide which e-mail marketing company that you want to run with and start creating newsletters promoting your niche or product.
7. Create a simple press release and send it out to companies that specialize in getting press releases out to the media.
8. If you love to talk and you do not have a fear of speaking in front of people, get involved with seminars and other meetings where you can speak about your business and promote it by handing out brochures and flyers to those who are in attendance.
9. Once you have a product that is ready to go out in the market, invite a friend to take a look at the software or to sample a product. Once they are satisfied with your product, then they will share it with their friends and family; this is known as word-of-mouth advertising.
These are just some ideas on how you can get free traffic through advertising; without it, your business will suffer and you will waste all your time and money. Remember, the work of being an entrepreneur takes time, patience and work to become successful.
