Become a Paperless Remote Worker in 5 Apps

Become a Paperless Remote Worker in 5 Apps

Expert Author Phil T Byrne
Working remotely gives you the freedom to work wherever you want to in the world and to move about as you please, so it makes sense to take as little as possible with you.
The idea of the 'paperless' office has been around for decades. While many offices still fail to go paperless, for the remote worker it is easy.
Here are five apps that will help you to go completely paperless when working remotely, while still remaining productive or even increasing your productivity.
1. FreeAgent
FreeAgent is one of the most popular accounting solutions for freelancers and small businesses. It is very simple to use, and everything is explained in simple language that avoids complex terms. You can use it to keep track of your invoices, manage your expenses, check profit and loss statements and a lot more, and it's all accessible online.
2. MyFax
Use MyFax to send and receive faxes electronically. Even though emails have taken over faxes for the most part, there may still be occasions when you need to send or receive a fax. This will allow you to scan documents and fax them from your computer, as well as receiving faxes in electronic format via your email. You can even use it on your mobile phone.
3. Echosign
If you regularly send contracts to clients, Echosign allows you to do so electronically. There is no need to print anything out, and clients can also sign your contracts electronically, which will then be legally binding. It comes with a number of templates that are easy to use, and there's also an online archive where you can find your contracts whenever you need to.
4. Evernote
Evernote is the ultimate notebook. It is completely free to use, and it will mean you never have to lose another note again. I used to always carry a notebook around with me, but now all my notes are kept here. You can get access to your notes on your phone, tablet or computer, and there's also a powerful search function so you can always find what you're looking for.
5. Google Drive
Google Drive is still the best way to create and share documents in the cloud. This online office suite allows you to access your work files from anywhere, so you never need to worry about backing up your work. It also has excellent collaboration features for working on projects with clients and colleagues.
Time to Go Paperless
It's never been easier to go paperless, and when you are a remote worker it makes a lot of sense to do so. Use the above five apps as a starting point and see whether you can banish the use of paper in your remote office from now on.
